About Reding Financial Group
Smart, Plain-Spoken Guidance for Your Retirement Journey
Hi, I’m Rick Reding.
I founded Reding Financial Group with a pretty straightforward belief: you’ve worked too hard and built too much to leave your retirement up to guesswork or the daily market headlines. Retirement should feel secure, intentional, and lived entirely on your terms.
For over 35 years, I’ve had the privilege of sitting across the table from individuals and families here in Northern Nevada and across the country. My job isn't to overcomplicate your financial life—it’s to help you make sense of it, turning uncertainty into a clear, reliable roadmap.
Most of the people who walk through our doors aren’t starting from scratch. They’ve built a meaningful life and a solid nest egg. Now, they are facing a major life transition and asking the big questions:
“How do I protect what I’ve built, and how do I ensure it actually supports the lifestyle I want to live?”
That is exactly where we come in.
What We Focus On
We don’t believe in “set it and forget it” financial planning. Life changes, tax laws evolve, and your investments need the flexibility to adapt right along with them. We focus on the areas that matter most during the distribution phase of your life:
- Tactical Wealth Management: Managing portfolios with a strict focus on risk management and downside protection, rather than just passive investing.
- Retirement Income Strategies: Designing cash-flow plans built to reliably last a lifetime.
- Tax-Efficient Distribution: Structuring how and when you draw from your accounts to keep more of your hard-earned wealth.
- Long-Term Care Leverage: Safeguarding your core assets from unexpected family health events so your wealth stays where it belongs.
- Legacy Planning: Ensuring your estate transitions smoothly to the next generation without creating unnecessary stress for your kids.
Why This Work is Personal to Me
My appreciation for a well-planned life started long before I earned my professional licenses—it goes back to a lakeside cabin in Minnesota.
My grandparents lived with deep intention. They were frugal, loved fishing, playing cards, and finding garage sale treasures (it’s a Midwestern thing). They were able to retire early not because they had millions, but because they made wise, deliberate choices with what they had. That mindset—simplicity, value, and freedom—is woven into the DNA of our firm.
But our deepest commitment to helping families protect their wealth comes from our own family's journey right here at home.
There is a quote by leadership expert Dr. John Maxwell that I’ve always loved:
“If you see a turtle on a fence post, you know he didn’t get there by himself.”
Success, resilience, and a secure retirement are rarely solo journeys. They are built on relationships and having the right support along the way.
Meet the Team
Reding Financial Group is a family-owned firm built on shared values and a real-world understanding of what it means to care for the people you love.
Teresa Reding — Co-Founder
While I handle the wealth management and portfolio design directly with our clients, my wife, Teresa, is the co-founder of our firm. Having helped build this practice from the ground up, she continues to provide invaluable high-level oversight and background organizational support.
Teresa works away from the daily office operations these days, serving as a steady sounding board and keeping our firm rooted in its family-first culture.
Building this business together over the course of our 40-year marriage has been an incredible journey. Together, we have lived through the exact same caregiving realities that many of our clients face. Teresa spent five years serving as the primary, in-home caregiver for her mother, and our family also holds the cherished memory of our special needs child who passed away recently.
Those years of hands-on devotion shaped our entire perspective on financial planning. They gave us an unshakeable belief in the importance of protecting a family's independence, dignity, and assets before a health crisis hits.
Today, we balance our professional life with our absolute favorite role yet: being grandparents. And yes, I firmly believe that grandkids are the ultimate dividend payout of parenthood!
Our Strategic Operational Alliance
To ensure our paperwork and account processing move with enterprise-level speed and precision, we maintain a close operational alliance with our colleagues at Prospero Wealth Advisors in Roseville, California. Through this regional partnership within the Osaic Wealth,Inc. network, Reding Financial Group utilizes a shared, specialized back-office support team.
This collaborative infrastructure allows us to offload routine administrative tasks entirely behind the scenes, so my primary focus stays exactly where it belongs: on you and your strategy.
Backed by Strength, Focused on You
Through our affiliation with Osaic Wealth, Inc., we leverage the advanced planning platforms, institutional technology, and deep resources of a national network, allowing us to offer fully customized financial strategies.
Because real wealth protection requires a comprehensive look at the big picture, I hold multiple professional securities registrations (Series 6, 63, 22, 62, and 65) alongside specialized licensing in life, health, and Long-Term Care (LTC) insurance.
